Some fifteen students of the workshop Art, Arctic, Climate at the Abisko Science Research Center were asked to take a walk at night on the ice of lake Torneträsk in the Swedish Arctic, and draw lines with the torchlight function of their mobile phones, while I made a long exposure of ca. 4 hours on black&white FP4 film with a middle format Mamiya 7 analogue camera on a sturdy tripod. The softer lines were made later by two women who were looking for a lost room key, pointing their lights towards the snow. Coincidently, this collaborative and peaceful action happened on February 24, 2022, the day of the Russian invasion in the Ukraine.
